Only 1 left in stock
A delicate modern geometric tapestry artwork woven with bleached and unbleached linen on cotton, exploring the structure of weaving itself. The composition is made up of interconnected triangles and exposed sections of warp, left exposed by the “absence” of the weft. The two shades of linen are blended with delicate lines, mixed with solid blocks of one shade.
The tapestry is set on a backing of thick mount-board, with a bespoke-cut picture mount in front. The overall piece measures 40cm x 50cm, and the woven area is 25cm x 30cm. This piece is shipped unframed, wrapped in cellophane in a secure cardboard envelope.
If you would like Christabel to have this piece framed for you, please Contact Us and we will be in touch to discuss your requirements.
UK P&P is £15.00. International P&P is £25.00.

Christabel Balfour studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, specialising in woven sculpture. Since graduating she has developed her practice as a tapestry weaver, and now produces handwoven tapestries and rugs from her studio in south east London.
She works either on her 1976 Harris rug loom, or on frame looms which she builds herself. Her work draws from both the wild landscape and the modern city and explores the way the elements- wind, rain and mist- shape them both. She also finds inspiration in the work of master weavers around the world and textile traditions which stretch back centuries.
Her rugs are made to order in the size and colour combinations of your choice.
