DELIVERY – How Does It Work?

The Maker Place showcases a hand-picked selection of the UK’s best modern designers and makers. We ensure that each designer or maker receives more for their time and creativity by arranging for them to deliver directly to you.

This means that when you order products from different makers, these packages will arrive separately. Each maker also sets the prices for the delivery of each product separately.

The total delivery cost will be a total of the delivery cost for each product. Many of the products on The Maker Place are delivered for free within the UK. We work in partnership with our makers to ensure that the prices you are charged for delivery are as low as possible. Delivery costs will be stated on the Product Page for each item when you click on the ‘Shipping’ tab and they will also be displayed at the checkout when you enter your postal address.

Our Makers always aim to dispatch goods within 2 working days of the order being placed, unless you are advised otherwise in the product details (for example with goods that need to be commissioned or made to order) and you’ll get an email to confirm when your order has been dispatched. If your product is being delivered using tracked delivery then you will receive updates letting you know how your delivery is progressing.

Do you offer delivery outside of the UK?

Many makers are able to offer delivery outside of the UK and you can check whether a product is available for international delivery on the product page for each item under the Shipping tab. If it is, it will tell you the cost for postage. The cost will also be calculated at the checkout. If a product isn’t listed as available for delivery but you are interested in buying from outside of the UK, it may be that we can arrange for a bespoke postage solution, so please do email us at and we will be happy to see if we can arrange for custom postage.


What if I Need to Return an Item?

It’s really important to us that you are happy with any purchases you make via The Maker Place and we offer a FREE 30 day no quibble returns policy, so if you’re not completely happy with your order, you can return it to the maker and we will refund your order in full.

If within 30 days of the receipt of the products you decide you wish to return or exchange them for any reason, please CONTACT US in the first instance and we’ll tell you how you can arrange to return the item/s to the Maker who supplied them.

Unfortunately, as is standard within the UK, we are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for items that have been customised or personalised specifically for you unless the item is faulty or damaged.

If any item is incorrectly supplied, or faulty then you have up to 30 days to request a full refund.
